The basic thrust is on understanding the independent nature of organizational dynamics and its managerial implications. This shall help students acquire conceptual and analytical abilities required for appropriate decision making and effective implementation. A number of generic learning outcomes related to the theme of corporate performance are isolated which emphasize on the objectives listed above and link the various functional modules. The Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) programme is spread over a period of two years and is divided into six terms. The course in the first year provide equality in understanding and comprehending the basics of disciplines and functions of business management. The core curriculum develops essential skills and knowledge in the areas of Economics, Organization Behavior, Finance and Accounting, Management Control, Marketing, Human Resource Management, Information Systems and Quantitative Methods carrying 1 credit each. The PGDM Programme offers a unique feature of a Dual Major, whereby a student can choose courses from two areas of specialization, thus having a broader choice of careers. The second year courses are a mix of compulsory (core) courses and electives in the specialization areas of students choice. There are five compulsory (core) courses (Term-wise 2+2+1, as shown below). Each compulsory course carries 1 credit. In addition the student selects two elective courses in each of the two chosen specialization areas in each term (i.e. 2X2X3=12 electives). Each elective course carries 1 credit.
